Quality Hotel Hotel, GlasgowThe Buchanan Hotel (three star) is located towards the top of Buchanan Street and is an ideal location for shopping, theatres, restaurants and the nightlife of Glasgow. The Pavilion Theatre is a few minutes walk away and slightly further on is the Theatre Royal. If you are attending an event in the Royal Concert Hall then you can be there in about three minutes from the Buchanan Hotel. One of the tallest cinemas in Europe is only a few minutes walk away and offers a number of films at any one time.
Transport links to and from Glasgow are easily accessed from the Buchanan hotel. Queen Street Station is a few minutes walk away as is the Buchanan Bus station which is opposite the front entrance to the Royal Concert Hall. There is a regular low cost airport bus service from Buchanan Bus Station to and from Glasgow Airport. The main station is Central Station which most of the trains form south of the border arrive from is only about a ten to fifteen minute walk away.
Shopping in Glasgow from the Buchanan Hotel is just a simple matter of walking out the door and crossing the pedestrian road and you are at Buchanan Galleries. Buchanan Galleries offers over eighty of the best high street shops. There is also a food court and the shopping centre offers the nearest secure overnight car parking facilities. It is important to note that the car park does close at 1130pm and opens at 8am during the week and at 9am at the weekends. If you are planning on leaving during the night make sure you have made alternative parking arrangements. Other nearby shops are located throughout Buchanan Street and along Sauchiehall Street. If you need more shops then there are the shops in Princes Square located on Buchanan Street and the St Enoch Centre, which is located at the bottom of Buchanan Street.
Nearby Glasgow attractions include the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) located at Royal Exchange Square and George Square and the City Chambers, all of which are within easy walking distance. George Square is where a lot of events and festivals take place in Glasgow and is where you can get a sightseeing tour around Glasgow. Sightseeing tours offer two options either a full tour or a hop on hop off service throughout the city at the cities main attractions. George Square is also where you will find the city’s main tourist information centre. The other way to see a lot of Glasgow’s attractions is by Subway, the subway entrance can be reached by taking a few steps from the entrance to the hotel.
Nightclubs nearby include Karbon, The Club at One Up and Studio. Also within walking distance of the hotel are the Arches and the Sub Club. The choice of venue will depend on the type of music you like and the attire you wish to wear.
For eating out there are numerous options around this area on Bath Street, Sauchiehall Street and Royal Exchange Square. The nearest place of worship is St George's Tron Church on Buchanan Street.
The Buchanan Hotel built in the early 1840’s could be the oldest established hotel in Glasgow. The hotel has 60 rooms, which have telephone, television and are en-suite, there is also a bar (bar 185) and restaurant in the hotel.
